Pan Pastel background card tutorial

I used for this card:
Pan pastels and Pan pastel blending tools
Momento Tuxedo black ink
Copic- and Flex markers
Fixative, glue and card stock.

Make a Pan pastel background by blending colours.
At the bottom I made a slight wave in it to create water.
Spray it with fixative beefore stamping.

Stamp images onto the card and stamp the images again on white paper.

I colored my images on the white paper with Copic- and Flex markers,
of course you can use anything you desire to color with.

Then you get this. The same I did with the palm trees.
Cut out the coloured images, just cut the fiddly bits of, as the image is already stamped on your card and will show anyway.

I did the same with the palmtrees, then glued them on to the already stamped image and glued the whole picture on a red card.
I also stamped the Aloha text in a matching color, and ready is your card.

Have a crafty day!
Kind regards, Stempelientje.

Motorcycle Ball Ornament - Tutorial

Here's how I made the motorcycle ball ornament for last Wednesday's post - the December Get Ornamental Challenge.   I used the Bombshell Harley Bikes Stamp set for this ornament.  Here's how  I made it.

1. For supplies, you'll need:

  • A glass or plastic ornament
  • Stazon ink
  • A stamp set of your choice - I used  Bombshell Harley Bikes Stamp
  • A transparency sheet.
  • Alcohol or solvent markers such as Copics and/or Sharpies
  • Filler for the ornament such as cotton, Styrofoam balls, etc.

2.  Stamp the image using Stazon onto a transparency sheet.

3.  Flip the transparency over.  This is critical as you don't want to color on the same side you stamped with Stazon.   The alcohol or solvent markers will not mix well with Stazon.

4. Color on the reverse side of the transparency.   You'll need to do a touch and lift technique as the ink will pool on the transparency and the ink will need to dry.  Also touch up any part of the stamped image with a black Sharpie as the Stazon ink will pool on large solid areas.

5. Cut out the image after it is dry.   Handle carefully.

6. Roll up the cut out image and gently insert it into the ornament.

7.  Use a long slender object to help unroll and position the stamped image inside of the ornament.

8.  Add filler to the ornament.   I used some cotton and glitter, but probably could have skipped the glitter as it ended up sticking to the glass ball itself.

9.  Add some ribbon and you're ready to go.   I add some adhesive strip to the top of the ornament, wrap the ribbon and tie a bow.   Anytime I've just placed ribbon onto a glass ornament with just glue dots, it rarely help up.

Hope you like this Tutorial.

Bombshell Gift Bags and Cuff Links Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

It's Friday!  And if the world hasn't ended today, then you will be seeing this tutorial!  I actually have two tutorials to share, so let's get started.

Gift Bags

To make these gift bags, I stamped Bombshell images onto a muslin bag. I will be using these to package some candy that my family and I always put in each others stockings.

Supplies:
- Bombshell Stamps - Tattoo Font, Ahoy Sailor, Holiday Accessory, Lotus Garden (or any Bombshell Stamp you wish!)
- muslin drawstring bags - 3x5 inches
- Staz-On Ink in Jet Black
- index cards / smooth cardstock
- copic markers or Martha Stewart Crafts Multi-Surface Satin Acrylic Craft Paint & a small paintbrush

First I took an index card, cut it down to fit the bag and slid it in so the stamp ink won't go through the bag.

Next, I inked up my Bombshell Stamp Image and stamped it onto the fabric bag.

Now, you could stop there if you'd like or color in the image with Copic Markers.  The markers will bleed a little so I colored lightly near the edges.  (I tried to color these with Sharpie fabric markers but I found that they bled too much for my liking and the colors were limited to 5 so I opted for Copics instead).

If you are not really a Copic Marker person, you can always use paint to color in the stamps instead!
I used Martha Stewart Crafts Paint on this bag and I really like the results.  (I just need to mix my colors better next time!)

Make sure when painting or markering your images to leave the index card or smooth cardstock in the inside of the bag also so no ink or paint bleeds through to the other side of the bag.  Once it's dry, remove the index card and fill the bag up! With candy or a small gift or whatever you'd like.

Cuff Links
Supplies:
Bombshell Stamps - Love and Luck, Tattoo Font
Staz-On Ink in Jet Black
2 - 20.5mm Natural Brass Small Square Charm Blanks
2 - Brass Cuff Link Blanks
-e6000 adhesive glue
toothpick / gloves
sand paper
tape
Staz-On All Purpose cleaner
First I taped down the edges of the brass square charm blank onto a piece of scrap cardstock.

Then I stamped on the skull icon stamp in jet black Staz-On Ink.  If you don't get it right on the first try, you can use a little bit of staz on cleaner to clean the image off of the brass charm.  Then wipe it down with a clean paper towel and let dry and try to stamp the image again.

Then I used sand paper on the middle of the back of the charm and on the small round disk on the cuff link so the glue would adhere better.  After sanding, I used a toothpick to put a little bit of the e-6000 glue onto the round cuff link disk and adhered it to the middle of the back of the charm blank and let dry for 24 hours.  (please follow the manufacturer's instructions with the glue.  I always make sure I have gloves on and plenty of ventilation when using it and where it's drying, because it does smell.)
I hope you all have a great Friday, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year!!!

- Kim
