Fabulous Friday Tutorial - Herb Plant Markers

Hi Everyone!

I used the Tattoo Font and Bone Font Stamp Sets to make herb plant markers for some clay pots I purchased. Since I will be keeping my herbs on the kitchen table by the window, I wanted to decorate the clay pots a little. See below for the how-to!

Supplies:
Bombshell Stamps - Tattoo Font, Bone Font, Speed Shop (Skull Stamp) Sets
Staz-On Ink in Jet Black
Die cutting / embossing machine (ex - eBosser)
Sizzix Oval Framelits Dies (2 7/8" x 4 3/8" oval)
X-acto knife
Scissors
Hole punch
Ric Rac (or ribbon/elastic)
White stiff felt
Martha Stewart Crafts Paint (Scottish Highlands); thin small paint brush
Clay Pots

Using my die cutting machine I cut out an oval from stiff felt with a Sizzix Oval Framelits die (2 7/8" x 4 3/8" oval).
Then I used a hole punch to punch a small hole at the ends of the oval. Since, I couldn't get the punch all the way through the felt, I finished cutting out the circle with an x-acto knife.
Next I stamped the names of the herbs (and some stars and skulls) with Staz-On Ink onto the felt ovals.
If you'd like you can also paint inside the lettering like I did below with green paint and a small thin paintbrush.
Then I weaved some Ric Rac through the punched holes and tied the ends in a bow behind the clay pot.  Ribbon or elastic would work also.
And all that's left to do is add some herb plants!

Hope you all have a fabulous and fun Friday!
