May Hump Day Hop!!!

It's finally time! Time for the very first Hump Day Hop that I (Alison) have organized! I am a little nervous, but I am quite sure that all of the fabulous projects that you see today will overshadow any little err's I may have made! ;)

I thought that I would kick things off in a way that was very...me. So for those of you that know me, this particular challenge won't be much of a surprise. It's time to...Goth up Your Bombshells! Let's break out the heavy eyeliner, dark, edgy clothes and let's turn those beautiful pinups into creatures of the night! Don't forget to draw some tats and chokers on to your girls too! We're going to dress 'em up Alison style!

This is going to be fun for sure! Here is the complete hop list. Please be sure to stop by all of the awesome participants and leave them some love. Have a happy Hump day!

How DID She Make Those Roses? A Tutorial Guide

I showed this card a while ago and everyone wanted to know how I made my roses... Here Goes:
1. I punched 5 flower shapes from some pretty heavy card stock that you can get from any demonstrator.

Next, stack them up so that the petals are staggered

Using a needle tool, pierce a hole in the flower stack and secure with a brad.
,
Then get that baby wet... you can mist it... OR...

Dunk it! Whichever method you choose, you will need to make sure that the petals are wet through all the layers, so even if you dunk, you may want to mist each layer. DO NOT OVER WET!

Layer by layer, crinkle and smoosh the petals and arrange how you would like them. Note that if you are using some dark colored cardstock... the color may bleed... so don't wear your wedding gown while doing this project.

I sprayed my roses with smooch spritz and here is the finished look. The color of the flower will return and lighten when it dries... I recommend overnight. Secure to card with large glue dot or whichever adhesive you have that works best for you! I have put these flowers on hair clips that i have made for my daughter and they are a hit! Enjoy and if you have any questions... Please ask,I am glad to help!

Ms. May's Challenge

Hi yall! I'm so excited to be Miss May! For this month I choose linens and lace to be the theme. For this challenge I made a cute little card for my hubby who will be turning 40 this month GASP! I think linens and lace sounds catchy but really any fabric and ribbon is acceptable just have fun with it. lol

For this card I stamped this little cutie Bombshell Angel with Tuxedo Black Memento and colored her in with copic markers. Then I blinged her out with liquid pearls for her necklace, her flower, her dress, and her bracelet. Using the same stamp set I made my own pattern paper (I love doing that these days) I also inked up the white paper with vintage photo distress ink from Tim Holtz.

Thank you so much for checking in and please play along. I cant wait to see what everyone does with fabric (I LOVE fabric)

Here's her take on the challenge:

Here are some other fabulous projects from the dt.

We'd love to have you play along. Add your project to the Inlinkz below for a chance to win a fabulous prize.

Meet Ms. May

Raven Baca is Ms. May. She's relatively new to Bombshell Stamps, so read the interview to get to know her a bit better!

1. Brief info about yourself, including your name, where you live, your family (if you want), etc.
My name is Raven Baca, I live in the beautiful Southwest. I am a sahmommy of four beautiful babies. My hubby and I have been together FOREVER lol. No not really only 11 years.

2. How long have you been stamping and/or crafting?
I have been stamping for about two years now, but I have been crafty my entire life. I used to play with yarn (knitting and crochet.) I've always drawn and sketched and done artsy type of things. Now I'm addicted to paper and stamps!

3. What are your favorite Bombshell sets and why?
My favorite Bombshell set is the Bombshell Angel set. I think the entire set is so versatile. I love the things that you can make with it.

4. What kind of projects do you like to do?
love doing everything really. I am currently nto making jewelry, art journals, and mixed media type of things. I have also recently gotten back into creating scrapbook pages.

5. What are your favorite coloring mediums?
Well my FAVORITE is acylic paint. And I would have had that as my challenge but Miss March Beat me to it lol. I also like oil pastels and copics. I like getting paint on my hands and clothes though so paint is my all time favorite.

6. Describe your crafting "style".
Ew. This question is hard for me. I don't really have a style. I change what I'm doing daily just based on my mood and the time constraints I may or may not have. I am drawn to vintage these days and things along the lines of messy. lol

7. Describe your crafting process. Do you start with a stamp set? A sketch? A technique you want to use?
I think the crafting process is extremely therapeutic. Sometimes I will go in with a plan but normally I end up changing it by the end. I love my projects when I don't go in with a plan at all. I am NOT a clean crafter. I envy those of you who are. When I start I get out everything and then it takes years to put it all away.

8. Do you have any other hobbies?
I have too many hobbies I'm banned from searching for new ones online and in the stores! LOL! The sad part is that I'm being serious. I LOVE learning and I truly believe that knowledge is key, so anything that I can get my hands on I want to try. I paint, draw, write, scrapbook, make cards, make jewelry, do photography (one of my faves), hike, camp, love fishing, knit, crochet, and read like a mad woman. Those are my primary hobbies. See what I mean?

9. Free for all including little facts, etc. about you.
I can't really think of anything else. I like being true to myself. That's one big thing about me and I love being free to change my mind daily. My favorite color is always something different. I love that.

Here's some art from Raven:

Hi All,
Rachael here brining you a super easy card.
I'm addicted to paper crafts, but sometimes, when I don't have a lot of time to spend on cards, I like to throw something together with not  lot of layers. It helps when I haven't crafted in a while and want instant gratification. So here's my 1 Layer Wonder!
And a few weeks ago I was putting together an easel card, finished it, but got busy with life, so I wasn't able to post it. Anwyays, here it is now!
Hope you enjoyed these!
Cheers!

My Take OnThe May Sketch Challenge

I love this set and I made a card for the May Sketch Challenge and I wanted to share it with y'all. I used my favorite set, Homeward Bound, and colored it with copic markers. I made the Designer Paper for the background by stamping the Mariners Star and embossing it with clear EP. It kept it subtle and added some fun texture! I love the fun sentiment and the brads seemed to work with this whole look. Pleas take a look at the challenge that can be found here and play along with us! We would love to see what you create!
Thanks for popping in!

Hot Mama

Whoa! Hot Mama!  This card is for my little sis, another real life bombshell and the mother of 6 children.  She still looks gorgeous after all those children.  I think this card looks just like her.  I used my Bombshell Angel for this image.  She is so fun and versatile.  My sis is also a vintage queen so I tried for a little bit of a vintage look on this card.

Butterflies

Today I made this butterfly card with the resist technique. The text backgroundstamp is a Serendipity stamp, and the butterfly is a Bombshell stamp of the Butterfly Queen set. As you can see on the pictures,I quite often have a great watching assistant.....not always easy working with him.....
