August Muse Monday: Vintage Motorcycle- Week 3

Hello! It's time for the 3rd installment of the August Bombshell Stamps Muse Monday. Every Monday, we will be showing off some fun projects using this month' chosen set, Vintage Motorcycle. Plus, the set is on sale for the month of August too! So if you don't have it yet, be sure to get it now.

May's Color Challenge!

It's the second month of our new monthly color challenge! 

Here's the swatch from Design Seeds!

 Please use at least three colors from the palette. You may also use black, white, and skin colors, but try not to use any extra colors. I hope you'll play along!

You can use any stamp you'd like. However, if you do use Bombshell Stamps, you'll receive an additional chance to win the fabulous prize, which is a $20.00 gift certificate to Bombshell's store.

Fab Friday Totorial - Dry Embossing With Stencils

Good Morning Marnie here to share how to Dry Emboss with your Stencils.

You Will Need -  All of the plates you would use for an embossing fold in your particular machine and a plastic stencil plus a rubber embossing mat and a metal shim.

 Start building your sandwich with the base plate, in this case with the Big Shot or Big Kick open to tab 1, then the first clear plate.  Now add the rubber embossing mat and then your piece of paper then the stencil on top of that.

 On top of all that add the metal shim.

 And finally top it off with your last clear plate.  The entire sandwich may need to be tweeked for other styles of machines just play around with it.

 Now run your sandwich through the machine.  I usually run it back and forth a couple of times.

 This is how the embossing will look.

 I then rub some Distress ink across the embossing.

 

This will make the embossing POP.

Here is my finished card.  I've used the Bombshell Digital Stamp Set Vintage Raceway.   I colored the car with Copic Markers.   I love that the Vehicle Stamp sets are available in Digital at Bombshell Stamps this Month!  Gotta Love That!

Painted Metal

Hi All!

It's Jodi here with another Bombshell tutorial. This time I'll be using the new Tim Holtz Distress Paints, Ranger Adhesive Foil Sheets, embossing folders and of course a fab Bombshell Stamp - Vintage Raceway.

Here's what you'll need: Distress Paints, Adhesive Foil Sheets, an embossing folder, a sanding tool and a handy dandy craft sheet.

First, emboss the Adhesive Foil (I used my Cuttlebug, it goes where I go).

Next, take your desired color or colors of Distress Paint and cover the embossed foil. I used Salty Ocean, a little Peeled Paint and Picket Fence. If you're impatient (like me) you can speed the drying along with a heat tool.

After the paint is dried, I lined the foil buck up in the embossing folder and using a sanding tool, I sanded off some of the color on the raised parts. I put it back in the embossing folder to get better contact with the sanding tool. (it will help keep the image raised).

 

Color up your image and your done! I used Vintage Raceway and colored it with Copics. I added a few little details with a silver pen to tie it together some more and stapled it as well for good measure.I thought the metal with the paint sort of reminded me of road signs and went well with the car.
