February Hump Day Hop!: Some Like it HOT!

Hello Bombshell Fans! Alison here. It's the last Wednesday of the month....you know what that means! It's time for the Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, the theme is "Some Like it HOT!" I figured that after last month's "cold" theme, "hot" would be a good challenge to go with. And this was easy, since ALL of the Bombshells (stamps and you REAL Bombshells out there) are all hotties. Here is the full hop list. Please be sure to stop by and show some love to everyone!

Happy hopping! I'll be back on the 3rd to announce March's hop theme. Have a great day!

Bombshell Cupcake Topper Tutorial

Hi Everyone!

It's Kim here with a Fabulous Friday tutorial on using your Bombshell Stamps to make cupcake toppers.  This is a fun and easy way to jazz up cupcakes (or draw attention away from a not so great frosting job!).

Supplies Needed:
Bombshell Stamps - Girl's Ruin Stamp Set
Ink: Tsukineko Memento Ink, Colorbox Black Ink, Copic Markers
Cardstock: white, black, purple
Embossing/Die-cutting Machine
Zebra Print Embossing Folder
Sizzix Circle Framelits Dies - 1 5/8", 2", and 2 1/2" circles
Lollipop Sticks
Washi Tape
Adhesive
and Cupcakes of course!

First I inked the Girls Sacred Sins Stamp onto white cardstock and colored in the image with copic markers. Then I cut out the image with the 1 5/8" circle die in my embossing/die-cutting machine and inked the edges with colorbox black ink.
Next I cut out black circles with the 2" circle die and embossed them with a Zebra Print Embossing Folder. Then I adhered the stamped image circle onto the black embossed circle.
Then I cut 2 1/2" circles in purple cardstock, stamped the "What a Girl Really Wants" text stamp around the edges in black ink and inked the edges.  I adhered the black circle onto the purple circle but instead of gluing it in the middle, I glued it off-centered towards the bottom so you could read the top "What a Girl Really Wants" text.
Then I flipped the completed topper over and attached a lollipop stick with a piece of washi tape.  I think it looks cool as is, but if you'd like you can also cut another purple circle and adhere it to the back.
And that's it, your topper is ready to decorate a cupcake.  These are easy to make and great for parties!
I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday and happy craftin'!
- Kim

Written Tutorial: Acetate and Tissue Paper Stamping

Hello Ladies and Welcome Back!
Rachael here today with a great technique that will help you add interest, layers and bright vibrant color to your projects. This Acetate and Tissue Paper Stamping written tutorial can be applied to all sorts of different projects and will help you create a card with an aquatic theme, so it looks like your image is suspended in water or ice.

Supplies
Rubber gloves, if you don't want to get inky.
Tissue Paper
Acetate
StazOn Ink™
Stamps - Bombshell Stamps used here.
Clear drying glue or glaze
Fine sparkly glitter, if you wish.
Dye Ink Reinkers or alcohol inks
Neutral colored cardstock
Step-by-Step
Step 1 - Stamp your image on the Acetate with Stazon™ .
Step 2 - Stamp your neutral colored cardstock with an image you want to appear in the back of your Acetate piece. Doing this helps to add layers, depth and interest to the finished piece. Use a light-colored alcohol ink for the background.
Step 3 - Turn the reverse side of the acetate up and lightly coat with your glue or glaze.
Step 4 - Add a few drops of alcohol ink randomly around the sheet. Start with a a few and then add more later if you would like more.
Step 5 - Smear the ink or tap the ink with your finger to deposit color around the page as you like.
Step 6 - Apply a light dusting of glitter to add some sparkle if you like. Or, try using some old makeup or pigment if you’re feeling adventurous!
Step 7 - Add a slightly bigger piece of tissue paper over your piece of Acetate.
Step 8 - Turn Acetate piece over and place it on top of your cardstock piece.
Step 9 – Press your Acetate into your cardstock for a more liquid look and continue to move the glue/reinker mixture around with your fingers until you like how it looks. Set aside to dry.
Step 10 - Cut your image down to the size needed and attach to the base of your card.
You're done! You've just created a great new piece with a fab new technique! :)
Thanks for stopping in today. Don't forget to leave a comment below and follow this blog for more great project ideas!
Cheers!

Embossed Resist

Hi All!

Bombshell Jodi here! It's Fabulous Friday at Bombshell Stamps and I get to show you another cool tutorial. This one is a recent technique I came across - by the guru himself, Tim Holtz. Its an embossed resist, very simple but very cool results.

Here's what you'll need:
Distress Ink, an embossing folder ( I used one by Tim Holtz), a die cutting machine (I used a Cuttlebug), Paint Dauber by Ranger Ink, a craft sheet, and a foam blending tool - coffee drink optional.

First, take a piece of cardstock (I used white, but any lighter color stock will work) put it in an embossing folder and run it thru your machine.

Using the paint dauber, go over the top of the embossed image, you can daub it, swipe it, whichever works best, let dry.

For your last step, take the foam blending tool and some Distress Ink ( I used Barn Door and Fired Brick) and go over the entire image. You can use one color or a combination. The Dauber Paint will resist the ink. You can take a wet paper towel and wipe off more of the Distress ink from the paint to make it brighter if you like. I also spattered some water onto the whole thing to leave some water spots.

Let it all dry and tada! You have a groovy embossed, resist background! I used the Peek A Boo Geisha digi stamp, colored with Copics. You can get some really cool effects using this technique - give it a whirl!

Until Next Time,
