April Hump Day Hop: Color Challenge

Hello Bombshell fans! Alison here. It's the last Wednesday of the month (and just so happens to be my husband's birthday!). What happens on the last Wednesday of every month? The Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop! This month, I wanted to do one of my favorite types of challenges...a color challenge!

I found this yummy palette from Design Seeds. I told the participants to use at least 3 colors (though more is always better!) from the palette. Colors needed to be as close as possible to what's shown. Are you excited to see what everyone has made? I know I am! Here is the complete hop list. Please be sure to stop by everyone's blog and leave some love. Happy hopping!

April Wacky Holiday: Take a Chance Day

Greetings Bombshell fans! Alison here. Today, we Bombshells are bringing you a new challenge. Our monthly Wacky Holiday challenge. Each month, I'll chose a wacky holiday from the website Holiday Insights.  Then, the team will make a project based on the holiday. These holidays can be any day of the month, so there's no set posting date for these! You'll just have to keep your eyes peeled.

This month, I chose "Take a Chance Day." Here's what Holiday Insights had to say about the day. I hope you've enjoyed what the team has made! Be sure to Take a Chance today!

When : Always April 23rd

If you are a gambler, you will just love this day. Today is "Take a Chance Day". This sounds pretty risky (but fun) to me........

Life is filled with risks. To get what you want, sometimes you have to take a chance. And, today is created to do just that. Today is the day to take a chance on virtually any object or goal. Will it be love? will it be luck? Or, just lollipops? We hope you fully participate in this day, and that you attain everything you seek. So go ahead and take a chance. As they say "Nothing ventured, nothing gained".

If you are in love and a little afraid of taking the next step, perhaps today is the day to take a big leap. After all, it's somewhat coincidental that today is also Lover's Day

Note: If you are going to "take a chance" at winning the lottery, we suggest you only buy one ticket. After all, everyone is going to take a chance today, so the odds are really low.
This is how the Design Team interpreted the holiday.

I hope you've enjoyed what the team has made! Be sure to Take a Chance today!

Butterfly Wings Tutorial

Hello all! I am soooooooo happy it is Friday. And one of the reasons is it is time for a tutorial! I think I have said repeatedly that one of the things I like about Bombshell stamps is their versatility. But sometimes flat can be well... flat - and you need to add a bit of dimension into your life.  That is what I have done here.

This is a really easy technique to make your images have something extra. I chose the largest butterfly in Butterfly Dreams. Stamp the image a few times. I always stamp about twice what I will need, since I am messy and get angry at my images when I miss something. :-) Color at least two of the same image. I have used up to 3 images before.

The glue will help to ensure that when you put it in an envelope, it will pop back out when it is removed (provided you let it dry for a while - otherwise smushaloo).

OK... Thanks for taking a peek at this simple tutorial. I hope you join us again next week for the next installment of the Fabulous Friday Tutorials!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fabulous Friday Tutorial

Good Afternoon I'm sorry I'm a bit behind today the final arrival of some warmer weather in the UK has brought out the germ's with it but we've waited so long for spring to arrive I'm going take Paracetamol Honey and Lemon( maybe a  little Whiskey too.........shush!!!) in abundance and get on with it!!!

This is my first Tutorial I think for Bombshell Stamps so lets hope its OK!

Today's Fabulous Friday Technique is to use a

 Baby Wipe Ink Pad.

The supplies you will need are:
Baby wipes.
Stamping card.
Stamps I have used the Mermaid Anchor Set from Bombshell Stamps.
A selection of Re-inkers
( I have used Stampin Up re-inker's in "Not Quite Navy" "Tempting Turquoise"
"Bashful Blue" & "Garden Green")
A large Acrylic Block and a rocker Block (not shown)

First take one baby wipe and fold in half and lay on your acrylic block,

Take your first colour of ink and just let drops fall onto the baby wipe but making sure your don't let them drop to close together.

With the second colour fill in a few of the gaps.

Do this until you have filled all the gaps but also making sure your ink pad is big enough for your chosen stamp to get covered in one application.

Now assemble your stamping card, stamp and rocker block, I like to use a foam stamping mat with blocks as I get a more even print.

Apply you stamp to the baby wipe and just press once.

I'm going to create a backing paper with the two Dolphin's from Mermaid Anchor Set.
Cover your stamping card with your chosen image(s)
Like so!

Here's my finished card.

PRIZE PATROL and CHALLENGE WINNERS for MARCH

Hey there guys - me again with the March version of Prize Patrol. Now, I roamed about a bit this month and saw some very interesting things. LOL... But first I want to present the challenge winner for the Bombshell Stamps challenge - Random.org chose KAPREE!!!! Whoo HOO.   Here is what she did for our Sketch challenge - Isn't the background WAYYYYYYY cool?!!!!

For the roving prize patrol - like I said - there was some interesting stuff, but Marnie made this very cool looking paper pieced Angel that was just shiny. I really love the color scheme here, and all the fussy cutting!

Doesn't it just scream retro?!!!!!

Ok... that is the Prize Patrol for this month. Next month the Prize Patrol duties will be picked up by Kim so make sure you all out there are creating and a crafting and you will be in the running to win some $$ to the Bombshell Store!
