Celebrate with the "Butterfly Queen"

Bombshell Stamps are sponsoring the current "Your Choice" Challenge over at The Cheerful Stamp Pad so why not create anything you like with a Bombshell image and enter the challenge - you still have a week to get your creation linked up!

My inspiration card for this challenge uses images from the Butterfly Queen Rubber Stamp Set. The Butterfly Queen and her butterfly have been coloured with Copic Markers and layered on a gorgeous Cuttlebug emboss/die cut folder which has been sitting unused for quite awhile! I added some star embellishments for a bit of sparkle and a die cut "Celebrate" sentiment.

And don't forget the Bombshell Stamps August Sketch Challenge and Ms August's Challenge "Please Your Man"!! We would love to see some creative entries!

August Wacky Holiday- Be an Angel Day!

Be an Angel Day is a day created Jayne Howard Feldman. The object of the day is to be inspired to act like an Angel and be kind to others. Be An Angel Day is for the giver and the receiver , so if someone is kind to you express your gratitude openly- so spread a little kindness (and glitter!) in the world Bombshells!

Speed Shop

Hi  :)

I really like to do cards for boys and men. That´s my thing I think :)

When you have cool stamps like the Bombshell stamps you don´t need much more on your card. I have used stamps from the Speed Shop set and packaging tape on this card. :)

Have a nice day!

A Shady Situation

Don't you just love these fantastic shaped wafer thin dies.   I know I do.   I really enjoy the nesting shapes too, but there are times when I want a smaller shadow or reveal than the different sized nesting shapes offer.   Well, that's when it's time to get creative.   Here's a technique that works with a lot of these beautiful shapes.  Give it a try.

Pick a die that has scallops or points

Cut your foreground layer.  I used this fish patterned paper from K&Company.

Cut a second shape out of what you'll use for a shadow layer.  I used some Stampin' Up Dusty Durango cardstock to go with some of the burnt orange accents in the fish print.

Now you'll have to shapes the same size.

Take the background layer and cut at the indented scalloped areas.   If you're using one with points, cut in at the points.  Note that you may have to round off or trim a bit of extra as you go along.

Mount the shadow layer pieces to the top layer with just the amount of reveal/shadow contrast that you want.

Here's what the back of the piece looks like.  Notice that I wasn't too tidy on my cuts.  You won't see that anyway.

Mount your assembled shape with shadow layer to your project.

Finish off your project.  I added the Mermaid from Bombshell's Mermaid Anchor set.  And nothing is done without a few accent touches.  The mermaid has some blue rhinestones as a necklace, the shape I just cut out has some actual fishing line wrapped around it and two fish dangling from it.  The fish are cut out of the patterned paper and covered with glossy accents.   Oh and plenty of pop dots are used to mount all of this.

Here's a view from the side.  You can see the fish a bit better.

A close up.   The mermaid is colored with Copic markers and most items are shaded with dye ink.

And the inside of the card - also shaded and an escaped fish.

And here are a couple more examples of this technique.

For many of our kids it's back to school time.  Mine started last week and I know many other schools are starting up right about now.   So in honor of those backpacks being schlepped back to school, those pencils being sharpened, and the anxiety of new teachers, new classmates, and a new adventure, here's a throwback to those all too infamous teacher crushes.  I know this hottie of a teacher would have the class' attention.

Bombshell stamps on a layout

Hi,
Today I, Päivi aka Ms. August, want to show you a layout where I have used stamps from the Speed Shop set. All the Bombshell stamps are ofcause perfekt for any project, don´t you think. Theese from Speed Shop are just perfekt on projects with/for boys.

One day I asked my 10 years old son if he have any old toy, car, that I could use. When I told him for what he made this from his Lego and gave me. Perfekt for tire tracks on our projects. :)

Manly Bombshells!

One of the many things I LOVE about Bombshell Stamps is how versatile they are!
They are my favourite stamps when I want to create a card for a chap so I was delighted by Ms August's challenge this month to 'Please Your Man' and create a card for a man!

I straightaway reached for my Hot Rod themed Bombshell Stamps and Speed Shop  was my choice this time.

First of all I used the Crafter's Workshop stencil and some modelling paste to create a brick background which I coloured with Distress Ink when it was dry.

I then printed out the Digital Bombshell Knock-Out Punch set and coloured the 'Pow' with Spectrum Noir Markers and added it to my brick background.

I coloured in the car from the Speed Shop set and added Glossy Accents to make the bodywork shine like it had been waxed!

I mounted the stamped and coloured images onto white cardstock to make them POP from the background. Finally I added a couple of sentiments from the Speed Shop and Vintage Raceway stamp sets.

I hope you enjoyed everyones' 'manly cards'?!

Happy crafting!
