Let's Hear It for the Red, White & Blue!

Hello! Ms. April, Betsie, here! Today I am sharing a recent page I made for my art journal. The theme is "Stars". I can think of no better representation of stars than the Butterfly Queen set. I found awesome glitter paper and a die cut sheet of stars in my stash. I knew what needed to be done and this is it:

Isn't she spectacular! I love to add fish nets to my pin ups and I added a blue pair to her. I added a little Liquid Glass to her stars to really make them pop and shine. I found some lovely red bling in my stash and put that along her hips. I wanted her blond, so I added yellow Stickles in her hair. I just adore her!

Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING! :-D

Color challenge Inspiration!

Hi guys,

As usual it has been a CRAZY few weeks, and getting more insane by the moment. I haven't had a lot of time to be all crafty, but I did have to try my hand at the first Bombshell Color Challenge:

Alison has challenged us to use the following Comfort Tones color scheme and create a project.

This is my interpretation of that:

The blues are a bit bluer than the turquoise on the inspiration... but ... I think it comes close.

I had a great time with this one because I tried to go really lght on the feathers and mix some colors together.

I hope that you all Try and join in on the fun and remember - you DO NOT have to  use Bombshells stamps to win!!!! and then you could win some of your very own!

Hope to see you all again soon!!!

Fabulous Friday Tutorial - Bombshell Bottle Cap Rings

Hi Bombshells!

Kim here with a Fabulous Friday Tutorial! How to create your own Bombshell Bottle Cap Rings.
Supplies:
-Bombshell Stamps (I used Tattoo Font and Madonna Woodcut)
-Ink
-Patterned Paper or Alcohol Markers (I used Spectrum Noir)
-bottlecaps - these can be purchased at a craft store (these I got from PickYourPlum.com)
-Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 25 Tool
-Epiphany Crafts Clear Bubble Caps Round 25
-Ring Blanks - Adjustable with pad
-Glossy Accents
-E6000 Glue
- toothpick
- gloves (optional)
First stamp your image onto patterned paper (or white cardstock if you are using alcohol markers)
Next place your cardstock into the Epiphany Crafts Tool so that your image is in the center.
Place one of the Clear Bubble Caps into the center, close the lid, then press down to cut out your shape.

Adhere this round circle into the bottom of the bottlecap with Glossy Accents. I have not had an issue with them falling out using the Glossy Accents, but if you do experience the image falling out you may need to use a different glue. Using the clear bubble caps is wonderful if you are not so great with using resin (or getting all those bubbles out of the resin!).
Let these bottlecaps dry completely. Once dry, turn them over and lightly scuff the middle with a sanding tool or an emery board. This will help adhere the ring pad to the back of the bottlecap.
Then adhere the bottlecap and ring pad together using E6000 glue in a well ventilated area. Make sure that your image is facing the correct way when placing the ring pad on! Let the rings dry completely for at least 24 hours.
Once they are dry, they are ready to wear! Go rock out with your new Bombshell rings!
Use your favorite Bombshell images to make them your own! Happy Crafting!

Full of Sugar!

Hello! Ms. April, Betsie, here. Today I am sharing with you a sweet little tin I altered that will be filled with chocolate. It is sweet because it is filled with chocolate ;-) I used this month's color challenge to complete this project.

Here it is:

I used the Sugar Daddy stamp set since I was filling it with sugar. I mean, that just makes sense right?

Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING :-D

Ms. April Does Earth Day!

Hello! Betsie, Ms. April, here. Have you created anything in honor of Earth Day? It was celebrated yesterday on this blog. Today I am sharing with you my project for it. I created a mini album for my trip I recently took to Georgia. I used an old piece of cardboard as my base and pages. I also incorporated scraps of paper I had in my junk pile (I love my junk pile).

I was giddy with excitement because I got the Tattoo Font set the day I was putting it together! It works great with a circle punch.
I used a few envelopes I had in my stash to house my pictures from the trip.

I never know what to do with the cute little pins, so I just stuck them in the flower I made with my left over Primas.

It was fun tearing apart the cardboard, misting, inking and distressing it some more. I also had fun coloring in the BOMBSHELLS and adding a bit of glitter and liquid glass. I must confess that I do believe this is the coolest mini album I have ever made.

Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING!

Peek-a-Boo Geisha Card

Hello! Ms. April here.

Have you seen the awesome sketch for April? If not go check it out!

I made a card out of the Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set using this month's sketch. I have a friend who lived in Japan and she sent me amazing Japanese "Fancy" paper. I have been itching to use it for some time. Finally I got my chance! This is what I did with it:

Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set

One of the options with the Peek-a-Boo Geisha digital stamp set is a blank umbrella which is what I used for this card. I simply cut down two different kinds of pattern paper and placed it in the umbrella sections. I then used a black pen to draw in the lines to distinguish the segments. I finished it off with a black "Sparklet".
I used pop dots to adhere her to the card for some dimension.

Make sure you check out this month's sketch and play along! Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING!

Let's Play Dress Up!

I have a new obsession. I have discovered digital stamps. I have been having lots of fun playing with my Bombshell Angel set and all the fun digital Dress Up stamps that have been created to go with her. I am not a techno savvy type gal when it comes to creating art with my computer. So, for those of you out there who are like me here is how I do it.

First, download the digital stamp set(s) into your pictures file on your computer. Next, go to the picture file, find the new digital stamp set (the thing you just downloaded) and click on it. Then find the print key at the top and hit that.

Once you have it open in the new screen, click on the two 4 by 6 option.
Next, click on the "Fit picture to frame" box.
Now, hit the "Print" Key. I use a flat white cardstock to print my digital stamps on. It tends to hold up better when I color them in!
I usually go ahead and print two sets on one paper (I don't want to waste paper after all! Or at least that is what I tell myself) and cut down the center until I am left with this:
Stamp your Bombshell Angel on another piece of cardstock and decide which outfit you want to dress her up in. Then color the part of the Bombshell that will be showing and just leave the rest white. I color in my outfit making sure I use the same skin tone on both the outfit and my bombshell.

Cut out my outfit and lay it over the bombshell so you know what you need to trim off of her.
Now, cut out the part of the bombshell you will be using and toss the rest.
Here is the fun part! Go ahead and piece her together.
Make sure you use adhesive down the back of her in a couple different spots. We don't want her falling apart in the mail on the card! I always like to coordinate her with another stamp set I have. The digital Biker Bombshell set works great with any of the hot rod sets! I used the Vintage Motorcycle to go with my Biker Babe.
Here are a few other cards I have made over the last few days with a few of the different digital stamps sets.
I would love to see what you create with your digital stamps. If you have not played with them yet, I encourage you to do so! They are economical and versatile!

Until next time -- HAPPY CRAFTING!
