Muse Monday -- Calaveras Fiesta set

Hey friends! Emily here!
I am here with a simple, block patterned card using elements I dont use quite that often... GLITTER. I do not typically use products that use glitter because... well lets face it.. IT GETS EVERY WHERE!! I swear I have glitter still on me from this project!

I made this card for my brother's birthday this year.... yes... I am late in posting this!! But He and I both LOVE the color orange... Especially burnt orange. I tried to use our favorite College Football teams colors. Yes, we are Texas Longhorns fans :) I dont know if you can tell, but her suit is paper pieced!!

I tried to use the same color spectrum, but yet get the awesome argyle pattern in there! (Yes, I am a sucker for the argyle.)

Ink: Memento Black
Marker: Prismacolor sand, Stampin Up basic black, blush blossom, and some reddish brown Sharpie :)
Papers: Recollections Spice Rack, and Recollections Halloween paper pads

Painting with Perfect Pearls

Hi All!

Jodi here, I thought I'd share a Perfect Pearl tutorial with ya'll. I love Perfect Pearls, they're sooooo versatile! You can brush them on over top of Versamark, they'll stick to glassine paper, you can make your own glimmer mist with them and just water. My favorite......painting with them. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way too so you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Here's what you'll need:

A stamp set (of course, I chose Sugar Skulls), a craft sheet, Versamark, black fine embossing powder, Perfect Pearls in various colors, a heat gun, a water brush and black cardstock. Dark colors work best for this, you could use dark purple, dark blue whatever you like, just match your embossing powder to you cardstock as best you can.

First stamp your image onto the cardstock using the Versamark. I like to make a random background. Pour your embossing powder on, make sure you get the excess off of where it doesn't belong. Sometimes it like to stick to places you don't want. Heat it up (my favorite part) until it's shiny - don't over heat it, it'll turn into just a black watermark. 

 Next get a small amount of the colors of Perfect Pearls you want to use - remember a little goes a long way. You can take the end of a popcicle stick to scoop it out if you don't have a groovy little glitter spoon.

Take the water brush and squeeze it to get some water flowing and mix some of the water and Perfect Pearl powder together, don't add too much water to the Perfect Pearls, you don't want it too thin or then it gets too transparent, too thick and it won't flow well. When you get it the right thickness, start painting. Since it's embossed, it will help you keep you from "coloring outside the lines". When you want to switch colors, just wipe the brush off until the old color is gone.

Tada! you have a Perfect Pearl painted background! The colors really pop on the dark background.

Here's the finished product....

This would look really cool using so many of the Bombshell stamps - the Sugar Skulls, any of the hot rod or motorcycle stamps, the Koi Tattoo, I could go on and on. In fact, I may have to work on that Chevelle...

Try it out yourself, you'll love it!

Burn in hell??

Halloween is coming,so I am happy to get my skull stamps out!

 ( I use it all year,but this time of the year people do not wonder....)

Stamps used for this card:

 Main Skull is of the Speedshop set

Flames and background skull are of the Tattoo background set

Materials used:

Card stock, Distress ink,Versafine Only black ink, Perfect Pearls,white gel pen and a sewing machine.

The background is difficult to see on a picture,so I took another picture and tilted the card a bit.

Vintage Racing Greeting Card

Hi All!
Rachael here and I wanted to share with you a lovely vintage racing card I made this last week that features a number of Bombshell sets.

To create this card I used:
The V8 symbol and the Hot Rod classic saying both from the King of the Road Set
The Vintage Race Car from the Vintage Racing set
The Goggles and the Checkered Boarder, both from Vintage Motorcycle set;
The little mini skully cross and bones from Homeward Bound set; and
The nautical star from Luck & Fate set.

I used the Happy Birthday banner from Banner Sayings set.

This is just an example of how you can group multiple sets together to create one great themed greeting card! I hope you enjoyed this! Thanks for reading!

Muse Monday Calaveras Fiesta

I selected Calaveras Fiesta for our first Muse Monday!It's totally appropriate since it's so close to Halloween and El Dia de los Muertos. In case you didn't stop by on Saturday (which was not only World Card Making Day, but also Mad Hatter Day), check out this card I made that shows off this set.

World Card Making Day Blog Tour!

The Bombshell Girls and Pin-Ups are pleased to be taking part in the World Card Making Day Blog Tour.

World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to:
• Celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family.
• Kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season.

This year, World Card Making Day coincides with Mad Hatter Day. Therefore, the Bombshell Girls decided to merge the two holidays into one and make cards that feature one or more hats!

So without further ado...

Rachael made this tag featuring Mi Amor and the heart from Madonna Woodcut.

I added the crown for Mad Hatter Day and dry embossed it in gold.

This was my first time playing with Distress Stain!

The helmet is from Vintage Motorcylces in honor of Mad Hatter Day and the bike itself is from Harley Bikes.   Both images are colored with Copics.  The greeting is from the Vintage Motorcycles set, heat embossed.  Shading with Distress inks.  Embossed silver cardstock using a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Misc. ribbon.  

Torrey went wild with Bombshell Angel, Business Bombshell digi, Fantasy Bombshell digi.

In honor of Mad Hatter Day...I transmogrified Bombshell Angel into the Madhatter himself (er, herself). Clean cup! Clean Cup! Move DOWN! 

Christine, used the Witch Costume from the Halloween Costume Digital Stamp set, together with the pin-up from Bombshell Angel.

Friday Tutorial - Reverse is Cool

Ok... You know all those times that you look at an image and think - Why couldn't she be facing the other way?  Why isn't that opposite? ARGHHHHHH ACKKKKKK.

Well this is a simple way to do this with the stuff most of you have around the craft room. You need the following:

The image comes out a little lighter than the original, but it is not bad, and if one area is too light I use a copic multiliner (or any other fine pen) to darken that area. The one above on the righ had no touch ups when I took the picture.

And here is my final image on my card:

No - You don't get to see the card. You will have to tune in tomorrow to our blog to see what we will all be working on for you! (I know I am a big tease!)
