Retro Cowgirl Ornament

Happy Friday Everyone! Emily here with your Friday Fun-day tutorial! :) Recently I have decided I need to try altering more items. Maybe its because of this months Pin Up Challenge? I love the look of altered things but maybe I just fear Mod Podge. I think its the horrific smell. Who knows! Join me anyway.

At Christmas this past year I ordered some wooden ornaments from Cabin Crafters with full intentions of making ornaments for all my friends and family. I just ran out of time, and ambition. I sat down a couple nights ago to do some long overdue crafting. This is what I came up with:

You're going to need:
-a wooden ornament or object of choice.
-White Tissue Paper
-Staz-on (I used Timber Brown)
-Permanent Markers (I used Prismacolor, Bic Mark its and Sharpies)
-Sponge Paint brush
-Mod Podge
-Scissors
-and of course The Bombshell of your choice (I used Retro Cowgirl)

I have no idea why this is sideways

First I stamped my image(s) in Staz-on on to a piece of white tissue paper which I first measured would fit the inside of my ornament base. Once colored her with markers, and if I like how she turned out I cut out the circle just to fit the inside of the circle. Once this is done, set aside.

Since my mom borrowed my distress inks, I had to settle with sponging Staz-on. Which isn't all that fun! I sponged both sides of the ornament with ink. (DON'T FORGET THE EDGES). Once I got the coverage I liked, I then carefully placed my tissue paper circle of images on the wooden ornament. Let dry.

Once Dry, I could see spots where you could still see the tissue so I took more ink to my sponge and filled it in. Once I got the extra ink in I did a final coat of Mod Podge.

While waiting for the last round of Mod Podge to dry, you can find a nice ribbon or other accessory to finish off the top, and enjoy!

I must say, after making this... I am addicted! I must make more! Thank you for checking in, and have a great weekend with your Bombshells! {oh, and your families too} :)
